Assistant Chief Doug Brown has been with the North Miami Police Department for over 29 years.  During his tenure with the Police Department, he has been assigned to various units within the Department as well as several special assignments and task forces.  He currently oversees both the Administrative/Investigative Division and the Uniform Patrol/Community Policing Division.

Assistant Chief Brown is a member of several organizations including the Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police, and is the President of the Kiwanis Club of Miami Shores – North Dade.  A South Florida native, he has completed numerous in-service training courses and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Florida International University.  He is also a graduate of the Southern Police Institute Command Officers Development Course.  Career highlights include the implementation of the Department’s first computerized records management system and, more recently, the implementation of the Department’s mobile digital computer network.
