Mr. Jorge Manresa

Police Administrator Jorge L. Manresa, joined the North Miami Police Department on January 13, 2003. Prior to joining our Department, Mr. Manresa worked for the City of Miami Police Department as a law enforcement officer for 28 years. He was a Major in the Patrol (Central) Section when he retired in 2003.

He is currently responsible for preparing, reviewing and calculating the Department’s annual budget, monitoring fiscal accounts and grants, and controlling the departmental purchasing process. Additionally, Mr. Manresa supervises and coordinates the Communications and Records Unit and oversees all grants.

Mr. Manresa graduated from Miami Edison Senior High in 1970. He earned his Associate in Arts degree from Miami-Dade Junior [Community] College in 1972; and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979 from Biscayne College [St. Thomas University]. He is also a graduate of the Southern Police Institute’s 94th Administrative Officers Course (University of Louisville, Ky. 1995); Mr. Manresa’s extensive training includes, Planning and Budgeting Techniques for Criminal Justice (St. Petersburg Jr. College, Fl. 1994); Basic Drug Enforcement Training in Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (Drug Enforcement Administration 1983); and Miami-Dade Police Department’s Institute of Organize Crime, 28th Organized Investigators Course (1980).

He is also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police (Miami Lodge 20) and the Police Benevolent Association.
