Citizens Mobile Patrol

The Citizens’ Mobile Patrol is a group of civilian volunteers who assist the Police Department. Volunteers are required to successfully complete the Citizens' Police Academy, a comprehensive 14-week program designed to educate them about police-related programs and services.

The Mobile Patrol Program offers the volunteers extensive, specialized enforcement and traffic direction training. Twice per week, the volunteers patrol the streets of North Miami in marked vehicles and become the extra eyes and ears of the Police Department.

Using hand-held radio equipment, they report suspicious activity, accidents, and other related emergencies to the C.O.P. officer assigned to work with them. The Patrol routinely participates in community events that include the annual Fourth of July Celebration, Winternational Parade, and Citizens' Night Out.

Anyone interested in participating in the Citizens' Mobile Patrol may contact Officer R. Pittman-Delancey ext 3211.
